after opting for opera over firefox, i have a query regarding saved sessions…as i am away from home quite often i like to keep up to date with the news online, thus the saved sessions feature of opera is a god send, however, i have noticed that after a while the saved sessions automatically update, thus some news homepages i once thought i had saved are no longer there, and have been replaced with more current/up-to-date news items…please help!

I like the feature of saving complete sessions very much but a few days after saving them they start to create problem. The images start disappearing first. Then the pages vanish completely.The only way to get them back is to reload them from net.

It is not that the setting of show image-cache image-no image is changed. I have checked those and the show image feature is turned on.

Any suggestions?

Sessions are a really powerful feature, and given that you can set a different homepage, very handy for starting your day.

But...

Currently, it's doing too good a job of being a snapshot in time - loading my session from when I saved it rather than updating to show new content in the pages I specify. Is there a way to force a session to load the pages anew?

((TjL writes: David, this is a long standing complaint. I believe ctrl + F5 will reload all the open pages, but there's no way to force it to happen automatically))

I’ve been Opera user for years, but this article made to really use sessions – now I can’t live without them.

I agree with the second commentator – you should be able to save a single window as a session. It’s kind’a logical to have a session per window. It would also be nice if Opera could easily switch between sessions...

But well... other browsers (at least on my Linux-box) don't have session at all...

There is an option "open pages inside current window" in session manager. This setting, however, is not memorized in my opera and works only if I open the session from the manager immediately after I set the option.

Is it a bug or I am doing something wrond?

I do not want to have another opera window open...

Larry: those look like window dimensions to me. Do you have "Show Window Size" enabled? (look under Preferences → Advanced → Browsing)

My sessions are listed at the bottom of the screen with numbers, e.g., 800:446 or 640:419. What do these represent?

I recently tripped across your series on Opera, and have figured out most of the features, but you enteries have expanded some of the under used features.

I started to use opera mail when i could not even log in to Outlook Express with out it crashing, it was time for a change.

Sessions (and tabs) are what made me love Opera a few years ago, unfortunatly, even though it was requested several times on the wish-list forum, Opera is still lacking the option that would make the sessions a killer feature: when will it be possible to save a window as a session?
