I made an accidental discovery tonight which may qualify as the weakest iPhone hint ever, but….
My son loves the iPhone Butterfly Game (as do I, it’s pretty cool and uses the iPhone nicely).
When he finished, he dutifully turned off the iPhone (well, he turned off the screen by pressing the top button), but he left the Butterfly game going.
It’s soundtrack (birds twittering) continues to play even when the screen is turned off. So you could, if you wanted to, make that a simple white noise machine for the iPhone, for those of you who leave it charging on your nightstand.
Unfortunately the soundtrack isn’t very long, only a few seconds, so you’ll hear it starting over again and again. This may or may not bother you.
It reminded me that years ago on my NeXTSTEP machine there was a program called “surf” which played the sounds on ocean waves over and over again.
