Jeez, does Opera pay you to do this? You do a lot of preaching about how great Opera is when Firebird is actually more compatible with the internet (which is kind of an important factor in a browser).

Opera is indeed a very nice, pretty browser, has lots of options, and plenty of potential, but it's definitely not the best. I'd wager that version 9 might be where they finally iron out their major problems.

If Microsoft doesn't buy them out, first. Look what they did to Netscape. I bet Opera's next in line.

Q: does Opera pay you to do this?
A: No. Do the Mozilla folks pay you?

"Firebird is actually more compatible with the internet (which is kind of an important factor in a browser)."

For the sites that I visit, Opera works very well for 99% of them. When I run into a site that I can't get into, usually it is because the site is poorly written and requires IE. There are few sites that I visit that Firebird can use but Opera can't. (YMMV.)

"Opera is indeed a very nice, pretty browser, has lots of options, and plenty of potential, but it's definitely not the best."

You clearly don't think so, and yet I've offered far more evidence of Opera's superiority than you have for Firebird. Most of what you have said has simply been statements ("Firebird is better") without any backing for your argument.

"I'd wager that version 9 might be where they finally iron out their major problems."

What major problems are those? Can you list some specific cases?

"If Microsoft doesn't buy them out, first. Look what they did to Netscape. I bet Opera's next in line."

I doubt it. Not that it wouldn't be a major step forward if Microsoft finally put its weight behind a decent browser, but I doubt it will happen.
