Hooray for Microsoft
The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has invalidated a claim to Web browser technology central to a case against Microsoft, a move that could spare the software giant from paying more than half a billion dollars in damages, according to documents obtained on Friday. It’s a rare day indeed when I find myself on Microsoft’s side in a lawsuit, but this seemed remarkably silly.

I disagree.
The money fee is indeed silly, since it's only a mere percentage of Microsofts year-profit.
However, I _do_ like the demand that they should ship a Windows version without built-in Mediaplayer.
Though mediaplayer as such isn't very interesting, it could open a case for releasing a version without built-in Internet Explorer. And we'd all profit from that :)
