OMG! The picture is extraordinary. It sums up that feeling of wonder we should all still have, but lose with age sometimes. It looks like it is straight out of a magazine or off a card! Hallmark, eat your heart out!!

I was just explaining my childhood Christmas to my husband the other night, and couldn’t quite get the “feeling” right. I hope you don’t mind if I have him read this because you said it perfectly, right down to the way our stockings, with the same content, were filled. It was a magical time, a time I hope not to re-create, but to create something as special for my children. The picture is lovely, the memories and images are equally as wonderful! Please drive safely this Christmas Eve! I’ll say a prayer before going to bed for your safe trip!

Absolutely beautiful; both the photograph and the sentiment. A gorgeous Christmas card and totally understandable why “this is the picture I carry in my head while we’re driving home on a night where even the 18-wheelers are off the road.” You make me yearn for the holidays of my youth … but I have a little something in my eye right now so it’s hard to type. Merry - and safe and warm - Christmas to you and yours!
