Save Directly To is still mostly broken

Opera claims that:

“Save directly to” now works

as of today’s weekly builds.

I tested this in MacOpera 3539, and can verify that it is kinda sorta true, with two notable… er… notes:

1) Downloading files this way will not send the download information to the Transfers Window. Therefore if you download a file this way, the Transfers Window will not automatically appear, and if you manually open it, you will not see any information on the transfer, and there will be no notification of the transfer being complete.

2) What makes #1 worse is the fact that the option “Open when transfer is complete” still does not work. Since I suspect many people, like myself, were hoping to use this feature to workaround Opera’s ill-conceived Temporary Downloads non-feature which I have complained incessantly about previously.

Saying “Save Directly To” works is a bit of an exaggeration.

It is, however, less broken than it was before.
