In California they just sentenced to death a man that spent 25 years in prison and became children's writer. And they declared Jackson not guilty....mmm

((TjL adds: well, the man who was executed was convicted of killing 4 people. Jackson wasn't convicted of doing anything, and what he was accused of was far less than murder. What people do in prison is important, I guess, but it doesn't always offset what they do to get there. It's like doing really well on a final exam after not showing up for the entire semester. Should you get an A because you came out and made a strong finish?

That said, I'm not sure that the death penalty is a very wise use of resources, not to mention something with serious moral and ethical and theological issues))
